When I was eight I played hide and seek with my dad. I looked and I looked but I could never find him.
When I was four I got a baby sister. She was small and loud and smelled sour all the time, but she was very warm when I held her and she was mine, so it was okay.
"This is your baby sister." Mommy told me as she cradled us both with her arms that looked like milk. "You have to protect her now because someday she'll be all you have left."
"But Mommy," I told her, because silly Mommy was tired and forgot, "I'll have you and Daddy with me."
Mommy's grip got tighter and the baby started crying, so I rocked her until she quieted down.

We walk in a world of white,
Souls floating out of our mouths towards heaven,
And then falling like dreams.
(Perhaps that is why our footsteps crunch.)
Silence is not golden here.
It is silver and white, clear, colorless and crystalline;
A rainbow without hue.
The earthen tones of browns and greens
From beast and tree
Hide, ashamed, under the ice and snow.
Cloud and sky are indiscernible,
One blending into the other.
(Or perhaps they are the same thing.)
You
Take my hand in yours
(Like snow, so fragile.)
And reach our hands out together
As one.
We breathe out our souls,
Watch them rise,

Blake sat on the edge of the bed, kicking his legs over the side. He was waiting for his friend, who, as usual, seemed to be taking much longer than she probably should have. He couldn't help but wonder whether it was a boy or shoes this time.
This time he chuckled.
It wasn't long after his musings that the door to his room opened, and in came Ashleigh. The girl took one look at him, gave an evil smirk, and attempted to tackle him. Thankfully it was only an attempt, as he saw it coming and dodged. Ashleigh landed on the bed and began to laugh.
"You're no fun." She complained, though her laughter indicated otherwise. She sat up on the bed,
Sometimes I forget how beautiful the world is.
Take today for instance. I was running an errand at school and walked into a classroom. Almost immediately I hear someone start to snicker, but I ignore it and do what I was asked. Then, as I leave the room, a boy at a table near the door says something to me.
"You're ugly." I think he said.
I think he said it. I wasn't quite paying attention and it didn't really hit me until I had left and all I could hear was his laughter and the laughter of the person next to him.
Ugly. Such an ugly word. Redundant perhaps but true. I really can't think of a worse word, but maybe this is simply my bias.

It was 11:16 AM, and Ashleigh was over an hour late.
Blake wasn't surprised. The girl who oddly shared the same surname as him was almost always late. Usually she was just distracted by something, a cute guy or a pair of shoes in the window. She had an unhealthy obsession with both, that girl.
He was never sure whether to chuckle or sigh.
This time he did sigh, putting his head on the table. He was at a cafe of some sorts, one he hadn't bothered to remember the name of. Maybe it was rude to the people running the store, but right now he was very tired.
He'd had a nightmare last night. He couldn't even recall what it was about, but for som
I met a girl who shattered mirrors.
"Mirrors are evil things." She'd say. "They show only the ugly things. Mirrors bring out the worst in people. They make them scared. They make them overconfident. They make them fragile. They make them ignorant. They make them cruel. They make them stupid. They make them broken."
A mirror cracked.
"We don't need mirrors." She'd say as she went on. "We don't need mirrors. We think we do but we don't. Mankind lived long before mirrors, lived long before seeing ourselves reflected in glass. We just grew used to it. That's all. We can still change."

Wow. I haven't made a journal in a long time. Hi guys!
Anyway.
I JUST GRADUATED HOLY GOD.
High school's all done. I'll be going to college in a few months. And I think I may still be in shock. XD
It just feels so unreal. It just happened not more than a few hours ago and at the same time it feels like it didn't happen at all and shouldn't have happened at all. I feel like I should still be a little freshie wondering where on Earth my classes are. But here I am. This actually happened, is happening. It's crazy.
I cried and I laughed and I cried some more and now I'm going out into the world.
I don't know if I'm even close to ready, but w
Curse you Suna. XD
